Overview

Jersey based recruitment agency Optimus approached Chameleon-i as a start-up company that formed in early 2007. Specialising in permanent opportunities within the finance sector, their consultants have gained significant experience within the finance industry and specialise in either Trust, Funds, Accounting, Banking or Compliance. The partnership that Jamie Guyer and James Caunt forged brought over 30 years of finance and recruitment experience to their business which flourished from the outset and they have continued to build on their existing reputation for integrity and the professionalism of their approach.

Challenges

Recognising the need for a low-cost, reliable software solution to help get their business off the ground, Optimus started to review a number of leading software platforms. It soon became clear that the cost of implementation and training for traditional ASP systems would far exceed their start-up budget, "As a new business based in Jersey, one of my primary concerns was installation and training costs for our new system, several companies we spoke to insisted on flying out to Jersey and charging us for the software implementation, training and flight costs".

Optimus were also aware of the significant and growing percentage of clients and candidates wanting an online presence. They required a branded and functional website that would display their vacancies, enable clients and candidates to register and also provide job search functionality all within budget.

Process

Chameleon-i then set about working with Optimus to determine the level of functionality they required for their website so they could deliver key messages to their potential clients and respond effectively to their needs. It was necessary that the website was consistent with their existing corporate style and that it could be integrated efficiently with Chameleon-i ensuring the smooth transfer of information and a reduction of administration for Optimus.



Results

Within 24 hours of contacting Chameleon-i, Optimus had signed up and were making good use of the software. A combination of the instant turn around time for implementation, free training and significant, tangible cost savings made an immediate difference to their new business, "The system was up and running in no time, and throughout the whole process Chameleon-i were always on hand to offer advice and support".

Chameleon-i quickly implemented a new website to help attract new business and capture information, and once in place Optimus found client and candidate interest increasing virtually overnight, James comments on the website, "www.optimus.je was quickly designed, integrated and serving my clients and I am really pleased with the results". The ease of which the collected information is integrated with Chameleon-i has impacted the efficiency of their operations and ultimately allowed them to focus their attention on their core business, rather than on administrative concerns.
