You need to look the part, so dress in the same way that you would if you were interviewing in the office. This is not the time to be working in your PJs, and if you are the candidate it’s worth checking on the office dress codes beforehand. And ensure that your background looks suitable. Something plain is ideal, but certainly nothing gaudy or distracting. Even the most professional amongst us can become side-tracked when we see something odd in the background. Look straight at the camera, speak clearly and leave a few seconds when someone stops talking to ensure you don’t talk over each other.
